Vagabond Inn - Glendale

I’m not one who writes many reviews, but I feel this hotel definitely deserves a higher rating. This obviously isn’t the Ritz, but rather a budget hotel. Given that, the rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. We had a great nights sleep, and zero issues. Check in was quick and easy, and both desk staff I spoke to were friendly and professional. We are coming back in 2 weeks for another stay and are looking forward to it. Bonus for the restaurant a quick walk away (Foxys). Great food there, especially their breakfast (served all day!).

Great location. Plenty of dining options within walking distance. We had no issue with noise. Room seemed clean and updated upon entry, although the floor could have used some extra attention. We did see hair in the bathroom. Room had a stale, musty smell. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would stay here again.

First solo trip across the border from Canada and I will re book whenever I go back, here’s why… I made the reservation over the phone with one of the nicest most personable front desk lady that I have ever experienced and she answered all my questions. The room I got was exactly what I needed, bed, tv, bathroom and microwave. All up to date and all clean. The location is across the street from the galleria a big inside AND outside mall. As well as 3-4 really awesome restaurants that I will be going back to. Not to mention being a solo female traveller, I didn’t feel unsafe at all in this neighbourhood. Lastly, I had a late flight on my checkout day and they allowed me to keep my luggage in a secured area all day. The front desk guy even did me the kindness of allowing me to charge my phone and use their personal bathroom before going out to the airport.

Very solid. Another place said it’s “no ritz carlton”, I’d go so far as to say it’s the ritz carlton of motels. Very clean with nice aesthetic touches like towels folded like ducks. My wife would kill me if we stayed anywhere less nice. A little bright in the morning (no blackout shades) but more than serviceable with someone at the front desk 24/7.

Location: across Americana mall & further down, Galleria mall. Behind is a quiet neighborhood. Rooms: Basic but my priority is cleanliness. This passed all my critical criteria checklist. Staff: Always ready to assist.

Finding a good place to stay when visiting is always a gamble. Luckily I found this well priced and well located hotel. The front desk was so friendly from helping me check into a room late at night, to helping me extend my stay without having to move rooms. The hotel is centrally located and a 5 minute or less walk to the mall. There’s tons of places to eat, shop and I love movies so AMC is right across the street. The rooms are spacious, very clean and modern. Keep in mind it is a non-smoking property but you have a smoking area upfront. I highly recommend this place if you are thinking about a place in the area.

I had to travel to Los Angeles from Tijuana, Mexico for my daughter’s Junior Grad Night @ Universal Studios. Vagabond was a perfect location & their prices were the most reasonable for my budget. I was traveling with my small dog & their pet deposit was about $30, while other places were asking $45/$50. (There is a small grassy area in front of the Check in office where there is a trash can & doggie bags available) They do ask a small fee of $10 for parking, I found it odd however it was less than others asking $45/50 per night. It’s 15 min away from Universal, (without traffic) and it’s across the street from the Glendale Galleria & Americana. So there are a lot of food options available if on a budget or want a dine in restaurant. There is also a liquor store around the corner for a quick snack trip for chips and drinks. As a mother traveling with a small child, teenager and small dog, I felt safe and secure. I will book again.

Great location as it is directly across the street from the Glendale Gallery. The rooms were simple but had all the necessities and were clean. Didn't use the pool area but appeared maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good size parking with front and rear access points.
